RPO has developed a dual-technology platform in optical materials and fabrication of polymer waveguides. RPO  uses optical designs and photomasks, its proven polymer technology and process know-how to provide waveguides to its markets  Die design, layout and footprint can be customized to suit customers' cost, performance, assembly and packaging requirements.  We work with handset makers, ODMs, display makers, device integrators, from the beginning to the end of the value chain.

The design process for waveguides normally starts with an appraisal of customer requirements, followed by a design workshop within RPO. Once the design has been finalized, test masks are manufactured which allow RPO to test the waveguide design using RPO’s extensive in-house testing facilities. Once a design has been finalized and approved by a customer, the design in transferred to full-size panel photomasks for production.

Currently no other waveguide manufacture offers flexible substrate optical waveguide structures, or panel-sized optical waveguide structures.
